A friend just gave me his virtual pet/Tamagotchi collection. I am a very very lucky (and grateful) guy!
It's probably 40% Bandai stuff and 60% other Vpets, all hailing from ~1997-98. I will be building a website with photos of each toy. My Tama/Vpet knowledge base isn't as good as it could be, so once I've got it all photographed, I'm going to need some help cataloging/valuing it all. None of it will ever be for sale, but I'd like to at least know/appreciate what's in the collection. Probably ~60-65 pets in total. Highlights are as follows:
Bandai:
-2 US Tamagotchi Oceans (MOC)
-Tama Connection v2 MOC
-Mothra MOC
-1997 Special Edition Hong Kong (gold box, MI
-Morino Tama (white, loose)
-Some Euro-market Tama that I can't identify MOC
-Bandai Mame Game MOC
-Doraemon and Dorami MOC
-Digimon MIB
Other:
-A few Playmates "Nano Baby" or "Nano Kitty", all MOC
-Nintendo Pocket Pikachu v1 (the yellow B&W one)
-A few Tiger "Giga Pets", all MOC, including a "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" model (all MOC)
-2x Dinkie Penguin, 1x Dinkie Dino, 2x Hitorikko, 2x Pocket Turtle, 2x Jurassic Park Lost world (all MOC)
Additionally, the collection came with a ton of other non-pet stuff, including two boxes of Japanese Tamagotchi cereal, some McDonalds Happy Meal toys, a Japanese market Tamagotchi 35mm camera, etc.
Lastly, it came with some videogame stuff including a Tamagotchi JPN N64 game (brand new) and a Tamagotchi JPN PS1 game (sealed, seems to include a Tama with the game).
The Bandai stuff is all easy enough to identify, although it will be nice to know if any of my colors are rare, etc. The copies are going to be much tougher, is anyone here an expert on ~97 vintage vPet copies or does anyone know someone who is?
Looking forward to photographing, cataloging, and adding to the collection.
