Whoa, so, yeah, I'm ridiculously new to all of this. I loved tamagotchi as a little kid but never had one. I did however get an Ariel one, if that makes sense. I had to feed Flounder and take care of him so Flotsam and Jetsam wouldn't kill him, lol. It was shaped like a shell and was dark purple, translucent with glitter flecks in the casing? If I could find pictures, I'd post them but for now, all I've got is the description which is pretty long but it was as close to a tamagotchi as I could get back then :p

Now, I've got a tama-go with Mametchi on it and my mom bought me another character and he's Ichigotchi. (I think...correct me if I'm wrong, he's just this little guy with a huge strawberry for a head :p )

I'm hoping I can learn more about my tamagotchi and the pets and such while I'm here. So glad I found this forum! :D

edited to add: Here's a link to a pic of the ariel one. XD

My linkhttps://www.bookmice.net/fleur/othervpets/lmpurpl.jpg

I really miss it >.>

edited again to add: I had NO IDEA there was so much to know about these little guys. I don't even know what version I have...everything's so confusing, lol. I'll throw myself into it tomorrow! For now I sleep. I'm EST and it's 2:10 in the morning here. ^-^''

Thank you to the both of you :p

I found the FAQ last night and am I now reading through it all, lol. I'm glad so many questions are answered in it, has an official version been published at all, the way they have those 'cheat codes' books out there for PS3 and such?

Hi, I'm unsure If a official version has been published. I would advise you to post a question about it and see if any panther members know any information.

Regards Jordboss

Welcome to TamaTalk, avianchild! :)

It seems you have quite a bit to learn about Tamagotchi's, but trust me, once you dip your toe in the water there's a whole world of information to learn about Tamagotchi's, like I'm sure you've already discovered! :D

About the FAQ, they are mainly just the most Frequently Asked Questions that have been asked on TamaTalk. I don't believe it's been updated recently however, so the best way to get an answer to any questions you have about the latest releases is probably just to ask them. About official FAQ guides, there are some Tamagotchi Books out there full with information for specific versions, but the majority of them are in Japanese and will be hard to find now other than on sites like eBay and Yahoo! Japan Auctions.

Also, I've seen that Mermaid V-Pet before! I know a few people who have it. It looks like a fun one to run!

Sorry for such a long welcoming post, but if you are really into finding out all there is to know about Tamagotchis (and believe me, there's a lot!), I'd recommend checking out a few sites. First of all try Tamenagerie, a site dedicated to giving information about Tamagotchis and a whole range of other Virtual Pets. There's also the Tamagotchi Wikia, which gives a wide range on information on Tamagotchi Versions, Characters and a lot more. Finally I'll direct you to another Tamagotchi Forum, Tama Zone. Tama Zone is a mature Tamagotchi Resource Board and is probably one of the best sites out there if you want answers. They have an extensive range on Character and Growth Charts, Guides and Instruction Manuals, FAQ and other useful information. The staff and members there are highly knowledgeable (as they are on TamaTalk!) and if you ask a question, it'll most likely get answered. Feel free to check out those sites.

Again, apologies for filling up your welcome topic with all of this, but I think you'd like to know. Welcome to TamaTalk! :)

I don't mind a bit that you've posted so much information. :p The more the merrier! I love figuring things out and I won't stop until I do. >.>

Thank you for the advice. =) It's around 4 am now so tomorrow, I'll try my best to dabble in it a bit more.
