My v5 was going onto its 2nd gen but when the parents kissed and stuff it showed 2 eggs

Yes, on the instructions it says "A maximum of three eggs". You won't always have 3 babies! The parents are still in your family if you didn't know (they're in the family list).

When you move up a gen the "Family list" isnt avalible there only for Tamas that ran away I have 2 eggs atm so ypou can have 1 egg 2 eggs or 3 eggs! dosnt effect the accual Unit or your Tama!

If I'm not mistaken it's a rare occasion for 1 egg. It's possibly possible to get a single egg randomly, but if the Matchmaker isn't there and something else isn't instead you get a secret family who's name is currently unknown.
