Meets questions?

I'm thinking of getting a Meets, but just had two questions:

1) Is there a matchmaker? I know the Mix didn't have a matchmaker, which always disappointed me.

2) Is it possible to now skip the "play" animations when your Tamagotchi visits another one via the different locations?

1) No matchmaker. You select the "propose" option when at a location to select from available candidates for marriage.

2) No, you can't skip the item animations. You can skip through the ending animations, though.
