Marutchi -> Ichigotchi

According to growth charts I've read Young Mimitchi and Ichigotchi can only come from Kinakomotchi after the first generation but surely that means that Marutchi can only become the negative characters (Oniontchi and Hinotamachi).

What then decides what character he becomes if they both have the same requirements and if Kinakomotchi can beome either positive character AND negative character what decides which he becomes?

For one thing marutchi ccan evolve into any of them, except Young Mimitchi. You can only get Ichigothi on 1st Gen. I didn't really get the negative and positive parts though... sorry!

What I meant was:

Hinotamatchi and Oniontchi are both negative characters which share the same requirements ("Will develop from Kinakomotchi or Marutchi, if you are forgetful about caring for it.") and after the first generation Marutchi can only become these characters so what happens if you care for it well?
