I strolled into K-Mart around midnight, looking for icecream, since it's the closest grocery store to my lair, and made my way past the freezers. First I'd look at the toy section.
Score: Tamagotchi in sight. I grabbed two, a purple with blue break, and swirls decorating the egg. The other was orange, and I can't recall it's other colors, but it was for my roommate. I was floored at the price: $7.50.
That's less than half what I paid for in the Bandai store. So I bought them, forgetting the icecream, and met the cashier. She rung it up as $14.50! I made a comment and pointed to the price tag, and so after a short wait (to yell at the toy stock boy who had apparently not cared to check the price, and a call to the manager to okay her markdown to the listed price, I walked out of K-Mart with two tamagotchis.
Getting home, I woke up my roommate, and threw a Tamagotchi at him. He and I hatched ours together, and put them on pause. He went back to bed, and I'm heading in that direction soon.
I got lucky. Yay.
