You have to wait til its an adult and you will get a [!] letter in the mail

24 hours [unpaused time] after your Tamagotchi turns into an adult it will get a [!] mail in it's post box. It will fly off to school, and the teacher will be there. You are now viewing your Tamagotchi graduating elementary school. After it flies back to its own screen it will get another [!] mail. It will fly off to Tamagotchi City where it can then apply for a job. Note that the type of job your Tamagotchi gets will depend on its skill points. And you may not have enough to do certain jobs. You should always aim for 100+ skills, because I think that's the most that the jobs ask for when you apply.
