Is it possible to connect a tamagotchi m!x from far away?

I want to be able to unlock mermaid palace, but I can't get another tamagotchi m!x. So is it possible to connect a m!x without it being close?

It won't be because an infrared connection on a Tamagotchi probably can't reach that far.

The low-power IrDA standards used in these devices requires both devices to be at most 0.3m --- anything more than that will not work.
