That is what a character does when they dislike a particular food/item. There's nothing you can do about it...except maybe avoid the particular food/item, if you choose. All adult characters dislike the built-in meal. They'll eat it and it'll fill up their hunger meter but they'll make a fuss about it. 
I think it's their little way of telling you that they'd rather have a meal from the Restaurant or Café. Also, I think on the company side of things, this is Bandai's way of making sure that things stay interesting, prompting us to spend Gotchi Points on a meal rather than going for the free stuff all the time. That's just my theory though.

oh i didnt know ether because when I had lovelitchi on my 15th Id-L she whould always get mad when I gave her rice same when I had meistertchi he did the same thing.I get it now I have to spend money on food aswell P

The best thing to do is to visit a ancestor tama that you've had before with all 4 TaMaToMo items.
