I need some help

So I see where people have their Tama friends and the Tama having a speech bubble everytime I go to click the button to make them talk to you it doesn't get bold is my Tama messed up or do I have to do something specific for them to speak

The Tamagotchis just talk by themselves at various times in the day, or if their hunger/happiness is low.

That must be why mine never talks I rarely let it get lower than 4 hearts full
