Almost 2 months ago I bought a second-hand Tamagotchi IDL. Everything was fine until today, I was feeding him and suddenly the screen has turned off, making a constant beep (biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip) that has not stopped until I have removed the batteries (I pressed reset but nothing happened).

He takes 2 months with the same batteries. I took them off and put them back on, but he does not turn on ... More later I will try to put new batteries but ... what happened? Is he broken forever?

:(

I may not be of much help (considering I don't own the newer models), but I wouldn't worry too much yet! Don't give up hope- it could easily just be dead batteries! My V3 did the SAME thing once. It was on pause and hanging on the wall in my closet. One night as I'm trying to fall asleep, it started screeching (that super long beep you talked about) and it just wouldn't stop! I got up to look at him, and the screen was blank. After replacing the batteries, he was good as gold! Go ahead and get some new batteries and see how it goes- I wish you the very best! <3  My fingers are crossed for you!

Hope I was able to offer some help!

Obviously you need new batteries... There's no device in this world that behaves normally if you put bad batteries in it. 2+ months is WAY long for a color tamagotchi. Mine sometimes die even after 1 month.

Like the others said, your problem is your batteries and not your Tamagotchi. I sort of had a similar thing happen when my ID's screen remained blank when I put back in the batteries I had taken out, just to see if they were really on low power. Sometimes I feel my Tamagotchi is fooling me, but checking the batteries with my battery tester always shows that the batteries are indeed used up.
