Yes, you're right. The baby sleeps with the mother/father.

If you just reset, or are on your 1st generation, and the little Z is below and to the left of the big Z, then no, it sleeps alone, and the 1 little Z and 1 big Z are both for your one tamagotchi. But if your tama just had a baby tama, and the 2 Zs are more next to each other than one being above each other, then it's the mom or dad sleeping next to the baby, like tamatown123 said. By the way, ChamametchiandMametchi, I LOVE the Yoshi and Baby Mario in your signature. Yoshi's Island is awesome.
