I have an accent...

People know me as having no accent though, and one of my friends is showing her true accent. I think that if she can do it, then so can I, but people will think I am copying her, when I am not. I want to talk naturally, but People will say stuff like "why are you copying (insert name here)?" what should I do?[/SIZE]

People here thinks accents are cute. There's a German boy in our class and even though we can understand when he presents things he's so adorable! ^__^

Just let it out. What can they really do?

If for whatver reason you are too afraid, bring it in little by little. They'll get used to it before they even realize you have an accent.

Everyone has an accent. Nobody doesn't have an accent.

All the people who make fun of you for having a British accent have an accent from where they live or come from.

I would love to have a British accent! But I can understand why you might want to cover it up.

Alot of people now-a-days are creul, and pick at peoples differences; using their good qualities against them.

I suggest you let out your accent as soon as possible. What can anybody do? If they ask why you're copying your friend, simpply tell them that your not, and that the way your talking is your normal accent. If they still think you're a ''copy-cat'' then ignore them. They'll get bored of it sooner or later when they finally realise you actually have an accent.

I think British accents are beautiful! They sound so proper and smooth! I would kill to have an accent. You should be proud that you have such a beautiful voice!

Nobody should judge you. Just explain you were embarrassed about it. If they're your true friends they'll understand and believe you.

I wish I had an accent..I had one in 1st and 2nd grade, a Mexican accent, but now that I talk more English, my accent went away! *pout*

If they say something, get your friends to start having an accent, then they'll pass it awn to other people. Then say its the new "thing".

Trust me, I talk in accents AH-LL the time! You name it: British, Austrailian, Western..etc. Its so much fun!

But having a natural accent, is WAY cooler!
