It's 1337 (leet - computer/gaming slang) for "own", or beaten.

If something is pwned, it means that it has been beaten.

If something has pwned something else, it "pwns".

Nah, don't feel dumb. It's usually seasoned gaming geeks (like myself) who use the word.

edit: Yes, it's pronounced "Poned".
