Welcome to TamaTalk. The "connect to PC" thing is for TamaTown. Go to www.tamatown.com and click the purple cloud that says "ENTER Tamagotchi Town with your V4 or V4.5 toy" (NOTE: I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but for me sometimes only the background of the homepage opens...I don't see the stuff that says "ENTER ____________ with your _______ toy", the whole Tamagotchi Planet - just the background. If this happens to you, just try refreshing. Sometimes it takes a little while for the clouds and planet to load, though.) Now you go to your "connect to PC" and your tamagotchi will bounce up, and then you will be given a Login Code. You enter that in the V4.5/V4 Tamatown and you're in! Then when you're done, click the "logout" button, and you will be given a Logout Code. Press button A or B - can't remember which or if it can be done with both - and then enter your Logout code. Press A to go through the numbers and B to select. Sorry if someone has already explained this to you, lol!
