How to pause a Tamagotchi ON?

So, I got my ON a few days ago for Christmas right, and it's been really fun so far! although my only complaint has been the fact that I cant pause it. I sleep in really late and have responsibilities to do outside of Tamagotchi, so normally I pause them when I am unable to play them, or when I go to bed to prevent them from getting care mistakes that I cant help, but I cant figure out how to pause it, and because of this i got Watawatachi due to care mistakes I couldn't prevent.  

If anyone can help me with this dilemma, id really like to know, thank you!!

You can let them stay at the hotel. If it's not the first generation, you can also let the parents take care of them.
