How To Get Awards?

What are the requirement to get awards?

-Do you need to have your skill points up to 999?

-Do you need to reach 1st Star Ranking?

-If you do reach 1st Star Ranking, should you retain it till Nazotchi comes to receive an award?

-What are the kinds of awards?

This is my first gen so I am pretty surprised on what's going to happen.
