Well tamagotchis can live pretty old with good care and attention. My oldie is currently 37 years old and still showing no signs of dying.
If you're lucky and a good, caring owner, your tamagotchi can live up to 99+. However, it can live longer than 99 days, but the tamagotchi will not record its age past 99.

And another topic, similar to this, was posted by celebrine: https://www.tamatalk.com/IB/index.php?showtopic=111712. As you'll see in this topic, someone replied saying that the oldest recorded tamagotchi lived to be 145.
