How do you tell what version of Tamagotchi you have?

Hi,

I'm not sure how you tell what type of tamagotchi you have because I revived my old tamagotchi only yesterday and the packaging has long since disappeared...

Does anyone know a way to tell?

The first two questions that I would ask are;

1: When did you get it?

2: What does it look like?

Even without knowing the when, many people here would be able to identify a model based on its looks.

Like what @Penguin-keeper said, describing the shell will make it easy to be recognized.

Take a look at this website, when you open the link you will be able to see on the left side of the page almost all Tamagotchi releases, hopefully you will find yours.
