I know this is stupid for a tamaguide asking a question but... what do the animations do like:brushing teeth,having bath like them.

Does it make them happy or do they do nothing?

I think that it's almost like a "screen saver" type of thing for the Tamagotchis. Just kinda something for them to do other than bouncing around the screen all day. I shouldn't say "screen saver", but you know what I mean - just a random thing for them to do at points throughtout the day, ya know?

Entertaining themselves =) Mine usually play with their toy balls, or dance around with little music notes!

Yeah oh and they have random animations on holidays too and they are my fave ones!

Like christmas trees and pumpkins for holloween and stuff!
