Welp, I'm obviously new here, so I guess this topic is now appropriate. xD
You know my username, so I suppose I'll say some things about myself.
So, I recently remembered Tamagotchis, and wondered where they went. I kind of missed them being around, and the popularity, and what not. They used to be around quite a bit, when I was a kid. So, I tried to look for the most recent of Tamagotchis and found the Tama-Go.
[i was just doing research in to Tamagotchis and found there there are even newer ones, ones with light up, colour screens. If these were released in North America, I feel like a lot of people would buy it. It's colourful, there are new features, it has interactions with computers, friends, etc. It's a variety of saleability, and I would certainly buy in to it. Hell, my 14 year old sister would buy in to it, /and/ her brother. I know people my age who would want one.
The Tamagotchi ID, and IDL are very interesting, and I only wish they came in English. It's a shame that they don't. I would buy one if there were language options.]
The Tama-Go was so advanced seeming compared to the first Tamagotchi, it was pretty fantastic. I decided I wanted one, and wanted to get one for my girlfriend, aswell. I went to all the stores that the Tamagotchi site listed, but none were there. I later re-checked the site, and noticed that all the stores that were listed were American. I should note that I'm Canadian, from Ontario. It appears that Tamagotchis are unavailable in Ontario, atleast. I don't know about the other Provinces. Although, in all the shops I went to, there were Gotchi Figurines. [Why would you sell useless figurines with no Tamagotchi? o ~o]
I reverted to buying online, I searched, and searched for somewhere reliable to buy from, but found nowhere.
So, I made my way to EBay. Found three cheap Tama-Gos, one in package, two out and used. [Among other things I ended up buying... Online shopping, my weakness. D;]
One of the used ones had no character to come with it, and was black, where the other had Mametchi, and was green.
The other, that was in package, came with Memetchi, and was Purple. It also came with an extra Kuchipatchi, which I wanted to keep for myself [since I think Mametchi is kind of creepy. Kuchipatchi is my favorite, anyway.]
I bought the later two.
On Monday I received the Purple one, and gave it to my girlfriend, she was very happy with it. That day I bought two more Gotchi Figurines, gave one to my girlfriend. Violetchi for her, Ringotchi for me.
This morning I received my Green Tamagotchi, played with it a little, before I had to work. I'm excited to see where it takes me.
Now, after all of this, I'm kind of disappointing. But this is only because I wanted to also play with it online, possibly with my girlfriend. But the website is down, or something, I'm not really sure. I've tried to search up the issue, that I keep getting stuck on the "print" screen. Some say the server isn't up anymore, as of one year ago, but then I see people making videos from around one month ago, of TamaTown.
Now as much of a disappointment as that is, I don't expect there to be a loss of fun with my Tamagotchi itself.
I thought that I'd like to add in that I'm 21, so it was years ago that I last played with a Tamagotchi.
I wish they were advertised more, aswell as more available.I could see a lot of people around here who might like one.
On top of that, if they were compatible with Smartphones, or computer, or the computer/smartphones where able to interact with Tamagotchis that would bring up the experience more. But that's just some input to the board.
I found this website multiple times since I started looking up Tamagotchis online. Just thought I'd say why i came here, in the end.
