Why do you wanna know?
The Spirit of the Baggy Green

The spirit of the baggy green

Is something so hard to explain

It could be the many World Cups

Or the Ashes that we've claimed

Or perhaps the cheeky wink of Dougie

Or the Don's sheer mastery

Maybe even Binga's magic with the ball

Or even Warnie's mystery

What about Punter's centuries?

Or even the outrageous ways of Gilly?

Whatever the spirit of the baggy green is,

I know I've got it in me.

What do you mean you don't know who Shane Warne is?

What do you mean you don't know who Shane Warne is?

He's ONLY the highest wicket taker in test cricket.

Remember those two nurses he "played" with?

"no"

The tragic innings that he was caught for 99?

"no"

Or his magical bowling in the 2006/07 Ashes series?

"no"

Or what about his 700th amazing wicket?

"No"

Or that gem of a ball known as the 'Gatting Ball' or 'The Ball of the Century'?

"No, I don't know who Shane Warne is"

I don't know what planet you've been living on mate,

But I certainly don't want to go there.

I mean,

Who could live a boring life without knowing who Shane Warne is?

Very soon I will make more poems and songs about cricket. Until then, vote for your favourite out of the poems I have wrote so far.

Here's another.

CRICKET

Hurting shoulders

Playing a good shot

Swolen fingers

Yelling a lot

People screaming!

Teammates dreaming... to win the final.

CRICKET - it's not just a sport. It's a lifestyle.
