Ok, so your probably seeing Happy New Year and thinking WTF??, but for many Oriental people, such as Koreans (I'm Korean) are celebrating a new year based on a lunar calendar. Later today, I will be going out to watch a carnival, and traditional lion and dragon dancing. First thing in the morning, you bow to your parents, and they give you a small sum of pocket money.

Does anyone else celebrate the lunar new year?

I am the PIG! My Birhtday is in 1995 and thats the year of the pig! Uhh ohhh. Lol does that mean next year it will be the year of the rat?

Oh last year my teacher was chinese we had a huge celebration honering the chinese new year. It was on a friday and we had no work at all it was so much fun! :D

I'm going to a celebration too! I love watching the dragon dance and everything (especially

the pastries XD). HAPPY YEAR OF THE PIG! My cousin is so psyched about this because the year of the pig brings good luck to pigs!

Thank you, but I'm not chinese :D
Doesn't matter if you are not Chinese :D

You asked if anyone celebrates - I said yes, and wished you a Happy New Year

We also give small red packets of money as presents to children in the family (we call it Ang Pao) and we have lots of lovely food and watch Lion Dances and parades ;)

Yay! Happy Luner moon new year to you too! ;)
