Grogu Tamagotchi Nano Announced

It looks like it's coming with some cute cases that resembles Grogu. (It will probably be like the Pac-man edition where you can buy it without the case) Preorders will be available on Amazon, but at the time I'm writing this the listing isn't there yet. I'm kind of surprised how long it took them to make this!

Update: More info can be found here. The description sounds fairly standard for a Nano release - it also includes an image of a blue shell.

I think for most people they just saw memes and went "awwww" and never thought much past that? I'm not a star wars person so I initially just assumed it was literally an infant version Yoda and whatever it was from was a prequel to star wars.

I guess so! I just found it kind of surprising because Disney's made such a big push to make sure it's known ever since they did the name-reveal, haha.

Anyone else's Grogu shipment get delayed? I had it preordered on Amazon and got an email from them today saying it's been delayed and they need to know if I still want the item. It doesn't say how long it's delayed for, but I have until February 10th to answer them, so I'm guessing the delay is for at least that long. Up until yesterday, my Amazon account was showing that it would be delivered today!

What is the point of preordering if not to ensure that you'll receive one in a timely manner?!

Everyone's distribution network has been hurting during the pandemic...the product is definitely manufactured as there's no report of a delay on the Japan side, so I'm guessing it might be an issue with Amazon's logistics. Delivery transport available and/or getting the product into/out of warehouses. It's hard to say, but as there's no announcement via Bandai's official communication lines it's likely just retailer-level logistics.
It's really a miracle anything shows up in our hands at all!

Pretty weird! I honestly haven't experienced delivery delays for quite a while now. Everything else from Amazon has been on time for me or very close to on time (and my eBay purchases almost always come on time or early, thankfully). I wonder if demand for this item exceeded the expectation or something, even though it was a preorder. Anyhow, I have a Jurassic World Nano on its way to me now, which I'm at least as excited for! It should be here in a few more days (I've been tracking it!).

I'm curious if anyone else on the forum had preordered Grogu and been delayed (or not delayed)! I wonder if some preorders were able to be filled on time and some not. I just ordered the blue version without the case, btw.

Might I suggest trying other retailers?

Just last week my pre-ordered Mimitchi Comic P2 was hit with over a month estimated delay. I did some searching, and found it available on Target.com so I canceled my Amazon order and got from there instead. It arrived one day later than it was supposed to originally arrive from Amazon and I have been running it for 5 days now.

The common denominator seems to be Amazon, so I wonder if it is more of an Amazon thing than a overall distribution problem from the manufacturer.

So I just checked target for you, and I cannot even find a listing for it…same for Walmart.

Another thing I have noticed is that the Mimitchi comic P2 has been delisted as well, but the other two vintage shells that released on the same day are still there. I pulled up the listing from my order history and it said “out of stock”.

So what I think we are seeing here is that the Mimitchi Comic P2 and Grogu are in such high demand, they just cannot make them fast enough to meet pre orders, let alone remain listed. So maybe distribution from any of the retailers has nothing to do with it, and they are just super popular. Amazon is probably just the first to sell out, because they are usually people’s first stop.

Yeah, I'd checked some other retailers too, including Target and Walmart. The Grogu is actually still listed on Amazon; it's showing Feb 6-8 as a delivery estimate for the blue version (if an order were to be placed now), and it says the white version with the case is still in preorder status and being released Feb 1. My account just got charged for my order (a blue one), and it's estimating a January 25-26 delivery now, so that's not so bad (if it doesn't get delayed again).

Meanwhile, I got my Jurassic World nano in the mail yesterday and started it up today. I love it!

UPDATE: Just got another update that my Grogu has shipped and should arrive tomorrow, the 19th! Interesting! I don't know if I'll have time to care for my two new nanos (Grogu & Jurassic World) in addition to the Giga Pet and Tama mini I already currently have running. I just got through telling myself to only run one virtual pet at a time. Lol

Another update: the eagle has landed! Grogu is in my possession!
