Hey all. As you may have noticed, I haven't posted in a few weeks. Well, I've been taking a break from TT and still am. I just wanted to share my exciting news with members of good 'ol Tamatalk. I will return full time probably sometime soon (near the end of school) though, so have no fear! I guess it's because I've just sorta got out of the whole Tama faze. Anyhow, on with the topic!
Last week, my heart pounded as I sat at my desk during 5th period. The exact date was 03/21/07. As I sat there, the voice seemed to get louder and louder. "As we mentioned a few weeks back, we are going to need a girl from this classroom to be the star in this sort of musical play thing. We have already picked the two warriors (Nathan and Chris), so now we just need a female to take the lead of lip-singing to Jenifer Saunders 'Holding out for a Hero'. The girl will also have to dance with the song. Anybody interested?" said Stef, our Artsaround assistant (artsaround is a special program) said with a smile. I imeddiatly shot my hand up, and a few other hands followed. This was my chance! Ever since hearing about this musical two weeks before, I had practiced lip-singing that song and a dance over 100 times. I had perfected it, and really wanted that part. "Audtions will take place as of now." Stef said, putting in the CD. Me and my buddy Amber walked up to the front. I felt my face turn hot. I didn't know that we had to audition! The other girls who had raised their hand had already backed down. It was just me and Amber. Elise, the other Artsaround assistant, turned on the song. All eyes were in my direction. I could barely contain myself. At first, I thought I was going to stand there, too nervous to do anything. But as soon as the song started, I began to lip-sing and dance like no tomorrow. Everybody was surprised at how good I was, and how well I knew the song. When the song ended, there was a loud round of applause. My teacher said she'd pick who got the part a little later. My heart was still pounding as I took my seat again. "You've heard that song too many times." said a boy who sat behind me. I chuckled, breathing hard. "Ok, good job! Now, the girl who gets the part will have to link arms with the boy who plays David; which, is Chris. Understood?" Stef said, packing up the Artsaround supplies. I rolled my eyes, knowing if I did get the part I'd be stuck linking arms. Though, in my pure excitment, I didn't care. I got a few compliments following the end of the period, and some people started saying, "Amber was copying you. If you did a certain dance move, she'd try and do it too." I didn't really care. At the end of the day, my teacher walked up to me and whispered, "You got the part." I was so happy.
So, I am continuing practicing that song. If you'd like to listen to it, then go
