Glitch?

People say you can only get Tarakotchi on even generations. I was trying to get certain charecters on gen1 and I got a Tarakotchi. Is it a glitch??

You can get Tarakotchis in any generation.

Tarakotchi is probibly the easiest to get because you can get it anytime! (And don't have to take super good care to get it!)

You get a tarakotchi by overfeeding it and it is over its baseweight!

Don't want to sound like an idiot, but which one is tarakotchi? What does it look like? I know what they all look like, but I only know, like, three names...
