Molly rushed into her house with tears in her eyes. She ran up the stairs without saying a word to her mother who was baking a cherry pie. Molly flopped herself on her bed cried into her pillow. Her life would never be the same again. Only a few minutes ago Dazzle, Molly's brand new colt had died. Dazzle had been born a month ago and Molly's father had promised Molly that Dazzle could be hers. Molly had never owned a horse herself before and Dazzle had become everything to Molly. But a week ago the little colt had been struck with a horrible sickness. Molly had told herself it was nothing and it would just go away after a while. But the sickness took Dazzle away. What was Molly to do now? There was a knock at her door. Molly walked over to the door covered with horse posters and opened it. There stood Molly's father. "What do you want?" Molly asked sniffed. Her father gave Molly a hug and said, "I know how much Dazzle means to you. So I want to make it up to you." "How?" Molly sniffed pushing her father's hug away. "I'll get you a new horse." he said. "No. I'll never get another horse again." Molly promised herself. But that Saturday Molly and her father drove to Meadow Green Stables to get Molly a horse. Molly passed the stables but only glanced at the horses a little. But she just had to peek into a stall which a tiny pony stood in. It was pure white. "Would you like her?" Her father asked. Molly only said, "Maybe." But after much searching the tiny pony was the only one Molly kinda liked. So her father payed for the pony and headed home with Molly and her new pony. The pony sniffed her new stall and made herself comfy in the straw. Molly watched the pony as she nibbled the straw. "Stupid pony." Molly muttered to the pony. This pony could never replace Dazzle. Never. She knew she had to give the pony a name so Molly picked the worst name he could give the pony. "You will be Ghost Pony." Molly said. Ghost Pony neighed. As the sunset Molly headed inside. But before she left she heard Dazzle's neigh coming from behind her. Molly turned around but only saw Ghost Pony with her head sticking out the stall door. The next day Molly went to check on Ghost Pony her pony greeted. Molly took Ghost Pony to the fields to graze. The early sun shone on Ghost Pony's coat making it dazzle. Then that's when Molly saw a tiny horse grazing near by. She wanted to get a better look so Molly hopped over the rail. As she came closer to the odd horse it lifted its head and began to gallop away. "Wait!" Molly called after the horse. But it was gone. The same thing happened the next day. And the next day. But one night Molly went to inspect the fields to make sure all the horses were in for the night she spotted a horse grazing. It was the same one Molly had kept seeing. But this time it didn't run away. When Molly reached a hand out to the mystery horse it looked at her with shimmering eyes and Molly noticed with a shock this horse was Dazzle. But then the horse was gone. As Molly was passing by the stalls one last time she noticed Ghost Pony was listening to something. Molly could hear a neigh. But slowly the neigh died away. "Hey Ghost Pony," Molly said to her pony. "Have you ever met Dazzle?" And Ghost Pony neighed back.
