I don't think attempting to do the codes would break your Tamagotchi.
As far as I know you can get twins on the Tamagotchi Angel/Tenshitchi no Tamagotchi. They are called Futagotenshi (twin angels) and are secret characters. I remember seeing "Futagodebiru" (twin devils) somewhere. They are secret characters on the extremely rare Tamagotchi Devil/Debirutchi no Tamagotchi.
