i emailed bandai japan in wether there will be a version 3 in usa OR europe and here is the reply

Thank you for your inquiry and your interest in our products.

Please be informed that Bandai Co., Ltd. has no plan to launch Tamagotchi Ver. 3 in USA or Europe. This is mainly due to the mobile system difference. As you may know, Tamagotchi Ver. 3, so-called En-Tama in Japan, has its main function for internet use.

Yeah well japan does own bandai so its kinda fair if they only release for example the keitai in japan

Well if you think about it last time round, there were more than just gen1 and gen2 tamas, there were Ocean, Garden, Angel, Devil, OsuMesu and a lot of other movie based tamas! I know quite a few weren't released outside Japan, but some such as the Angel and Ocean were. Also, Bandai said "we have no plans", that sounds to me as if they were making a statement that could be retracted, in other words, they didn't say "we aren't going to"...just in case they do! And they might not be able to work out a decent system of tamas connecting to mobile phones, but that doesn't mean they can't think of and release a tama with a different (but just as good) feature! We'll just have to hope they release something else outside of Japan, after all, there is a rumour that the Keitai is coming to Britain...

Speaking of which, does anyone know for sure if the Keitai is out in Singapore...? Some say it is, some say it's not.

I think it is out in singapore, my friend saw some in there when he was going to australia, also, i go my keitai from singapore!
