you take off the back of it then take off the next part including the battery. then measure to the area of the debug circle on the second back part and screw a hole in it. put the battery back in with the second back part. then rub the circle with a pencil and the egg should be blurry. put the back part on and at the screen, go to the word reset and click. type in the time then when you see the egg, hold the c button then it will hatch. pick your tamagotchi and your set. whenever you need to change the battery, after changing go to the hole you screwed in and rub the circle with the pencil and your done.
