Dream Town Battery Issue?

I decided to boot up one of my dream towns for the first time in a while today. I put the batteries in, and it didn’t turn on. I switched the batteries around and it worked, but only when the battery compartment wasn’t completely closed. I tried with completely different batteries, and same thing. If I fully close the compartment it briefly shows a low battery screen then dies. Any help would be appreciated!

Try bending the contacts so that they fit better and also see if you can clean them with some isopropyl alcohol.
