Tyler’s parents waited anxiously outside of the room, hoping that things will end well.
Finally after what felt like several long hours a Mimitchi nurse came out of the surgery room and said. “Your daughter is fine now. You may see her now”.
The adults, bursting with relief walked into the room and found Tyler slumped on the bed. “The nurse says I was poisoned”*
“Oh, it’s my entire fault!” Emmelyne wailed “I was the one that cooked Tyler’s food, it was me who poisoned her! And now my poor child almost died!” she moaned in anguish.
“It’s all right mum” Tyler sighed.
“How do you feel, sweetheart?” Jon asked
“I’m alright, just a little bit dizzy.”
“Come on Emmelyne, lets go so Tyler could get some rest.”
Emmelyne nodded, the adults waved Tyler goodbye and left.
When do clones usually disappear?
Tyler wondered, before she drifted into a Deep sleep.
She found herself walking along the beach with her parents. They pranced around in the water, the suddenly, her parents vanished into thin air…
…Tyler was gazing at the surface the lake; she saw a dark misty shape which formed into her exact image. The reflection had glowing red eyes which were as sharp as icicles. “If necessary, it would be my survival and your death…” the clone rasped, as Tyler’s parents appeared behind her the mirror. The mirror shattered. Before it did, Tyler caught a glimpse of the double’s face turn into a menacing scowl. She then fell to the floor, dead. There were images of the Clone’s face, repeating the same words over and over again like a fading echo…
Tyler ****** awake. She was very fearful that her immoral double would do such a thing. Tyler also felt upset that she had just realised that her double has turned her friends away from her, in the hope of having Tyler leave this life behind.
At home the clone sat on Tyler’s bed while she read her diary. She turned to the back of the notebook and wrote down her plan. Her plan is to take over Tyler’s life. Oh yes, driving her out of her existence so she can replace her…..

When Tyler is ready to go home she was thankful that is the summer holidays. As The clone was scribbling away in her diary and pretending to be her whenever her mum came upstairs, the real Tyler slept in the spare room every night, locking herself inside every night because she is terrified of what her clone will do to her.
After lunch, Tyler went to her Great-great-aunt Lilly’s house.
“Lilly? I kind of have a little problem, well… a big problem.”
“What is it my dear?” The ancient Otokitchi asked
“I have activated this clone which is plotting to get rid of me. She has been around for a month now.”
“A clone that wants to get rid of you? It is also a very unusual for it to stay for a month. Clones only stay for a day, 3 days at most.” I don’t think this is a clone. I think it must be The Shadow.”
“What is the shadow?” Tyler asked
“The shadow is an evil UraTogetchi that once took over Tamagotchi Town, Forest Patchi, Mame City and Guruguru Town when my mother was just a cute little petitchi. He got his name from wrapping himself and his wings with black silk. His eyes grew redder and redder and he got uglier and uglier until he was defeated. He lived for an unnatural 2000 years; he lived off of his malice, cruelty and immorality”
“What happened?”
“Cities were under the Shadow’s power until a brave group of friends from Tamagotchi Town saved us all”
“How?! Tell me!”
“They Boiled Mint, garlic, roses, Lemongrass and lotus petals together in a little pot with rainwater until all of the moisture disappears. Then, while the Shadow’s back was turned. Burned the concoction in a pewter pot and they wafted the smoke at the Shadow. Then the Shadow crumpled up and died. At least we thought he did.”
“Is this just a fairy tale?”
“No, it is history. Check in your History textbook if you want.”
“So is that how I destroy the shadow?”
“Yes. Would you like me to make it for you?”
“Yes please!”
And so off Tyler and Great-great-aunt Lilly went. They went into Aunt Lilly’s big greenhouse full of plants and gathered what they needed. They also acquired rainwater, because Great-great- aunt Lilly left a bucket outside in the rain so they went inside to make the magical concoction. They lit the fireplace and put all of the ingredients in the pot hanging above the fire. They sat on the sofa for hours as they waited for the moisture to remove.”
“Aunt Lilly, why does the Shadow want to take my place?” Tyler Asked
“Well, I don’t know. But I heard that the shadow feeds on the life of his departed victims.”
After a while of more waiting, the concoction was ready.
Great-great-aunt Lilly put on her mittens and took it out of the pot. It is red and has the size like an apple. Lilly handed it to Tyler and she held it. It is smooth and smelt like talcum powder. It also felt warm, like a flame heating up a stone.
“Good luck Tyler. I hope you deal with that little clone of yours”
