Does anyone have any suggestions for nfc /infrared devices?(that are cheap)

I just got my 4U, went though some of the list and allot of the devices seem pretty pricey. I’d also like to possibly look into buying an infrared device for my ID I bought. But I don’t know too much about that, I’ve looked into it a little bit, is it worth getting one? I know there’s lists of compatibility, but I am specifically looking for someone’s input who knows that I won’t be paying a boatload of money for devices.
