Disect Frogs

Yesterday we had to disect frogs, it was so cool! But I felt bad for the poor frog?

Have you ever disceted a Frog or do you want to?

I disected a fetal pig as well as a womb of a fetal pig.

No I haven't disect a frog yet.

I don't really care either way- it's for educational reasons.

I remember there was this website that you could 'disect' frogs and stuff on- it was awsome!

Basically, it's because the point is to learn more about our bodies and frogs bodies are close to ours. Also, frogs aren't endangered and they multiply in large numbers,.

And the only reason I know, is because we have to dissect them too. Ooo, are you gonna have a test on all the parts and functions? Dude, our teacher has the frogs out and a T dissecting pin on a certain part and we have to list the part and it's function.

I'm kind of against it in a way because they raise the frogs just to kill them. Like, they don't wait for them to die, they kill them. But I guess it's because schools need them every year and frogs (Rana catesbiana-Bull Frog is the frog we work on) lives for an average of 12 years.

And we have to know all this information from these huge packets she gave us. Anyways, I'm in 8th grade.

*edit* *directed to poster* But wait a minute....how long did you dissect it and are you dissecting it another day? Because my teacher said it's illegal to only dissect a frog for one period or 45 minutes. She said you have to for about 4 hours because they had to kill them and it's a waste if it was only 45 minutes.

If anyone is really upset about it, and you feel you are going to pass out or vomit, then it becomes a health problem. I am sure i note from your parents or care givers would excuse you from the project.

Here, It doesn't necessarily require us to disect frogs. I think we're allowed to go to read or study something like that anyway.

I've disected a sheep's brain in grade 3. Someone was nearly sick. Though, I quite enjoyed it... I just can't do that to a frog. I love the little froggies!

Psh, that's what biology class is about. It's learning hands on from what I noticed. My friend Jon said when he was in high school he disected a cow's eye. Plus I've seen and done worse

I would image that event.

Well the frog wasn't bloody it was just slimey, but although when I pulled out it's organ which was the stomach I acccidnely poked it and some blood came out. First it looks cross but then you will get use to it.

The frog stomach was so weak, we had to cut it with scissors.
