Can the Tamagotchi Plus Color and Tamagotchi P's Connect?

I recently ordered a Tamagotchi P's on Amazon. I already own a Tamagotchi Plus Color, so I'm wondering whether or not they're able to connect with each other. They both look like they have infrared sensors.

unfortunately, they don't! :[ the P's can only connect to other P's and the iD L. meanwhile, the +C can connect with the iD and iD L. it seems like a missed oppurtunity that they dropped connection support to the iD and +C though...

Aw, that's a shame. I was hoping they'd be able to connect. Well, I'm still excited to get my Tamagotchi P's! I've heard that they're a lot of fun even without connecting. Thanks so much for answering my question!
