But what if I like the 'neglected' adults?

I have this strange tendency of liking the aesthetics of adult pets obtained from bad care. (Kusatchi, Harptchi, Tropicatchi, etc)

This is quite unfortunate, as I don't really want to intentionally neglect my pets, but I really would like to have them.

Do any of you ever intentionally do things in order to get the lesser-cared-for adults? If so, precisely what do you do that doesn't involve almost killing the poor thing?

I've never purposely tried to get a bad care character before, but I'm planning to eventually so I can get Oyajitenshi on my Tamagotchi Angel.

I would keep the teen character at having only two full hearts (for both hunger and happiness), and feed/play with them when one of the two drops. I'd also not discipline them and keep some of their poop for a while, but not to the point where they get ill.

The 'Neglected' adults were the ones that I got almost every time as a kid, thus they became my favourite. Unfortunately all you can do is neglect them, I'd recommend caring for them only when you have time to spare (if you have a busy life that is).

I guess on the classic ones, not scolding them when they call for it would count? That wouldn't work on the Friends version since there's no scold mechanic, but at least on the older ones it would.

That should help getting the neglect characters. I've also heard ignoring their weight helps? I haven't tried this myself so I can't guarantee if it works.
