my friend and i are trying to breed our tama's,one is 7 and the other is 8,what do we do to breed them?

Check the friendslist. They should have 4 hearts to breed. (scroll to your friend's tama name, and press 'a') You'll see smileys or hearts. G'luck!

You just have to keep connecting many times. After awhile they will breed but it takes awhile.
