Part 19-1
It was amazing. Vicky knew so much about me. We chatted on the bus, just like I'd chatted with Victoria before I found out she was evil. The thoughts of Victoria holding a gun made me shiver. But at least I knew Vicky was different. Didn't I? I thought so. I didn't love Vicky but I was quite close to her. She explained to me about Baines' army and how they could be around any corner. But they were always wearing glasses. The bus finally stopped and we got off at what looked like the sewers. Thoughts went through my mind. Was Vicky evil? I turned around and luckily didn't see a smirk on her face. But it was a bit weird, her just stopping at the slums like that. I could see yucky green seaweed all around me. There was green water gushing down the gutter, which on this occasion, unfortunately, was along the street. I was almost sick, looking at this horrible sight. I turned around and stared at Vicky. She took the words right out of my mouth.
'Do you think Baines would put a base in a place quite popular?' she asked in reply to my question. She told me to follow her and we walked down the street, away from the bus station, trying not to step in the disgusting water. She looked ahead. I did too. But saw nothing
Part 19-2
'Well, here we are,' Vicky said covering her nose. I looked ahead and saw nothing, except the odd couple of trees. In the horizon I could see nothing but a beautiful sunrise. There was still yucky mess running down the middle of the street. I had a headache and wondered what was going on.
'Sorry, where are we?' I questioned. She removed what looked like a television remote control from her pocket. She pressed a large red button and a lift appeared from under the ground. It was shocking. She walked into it and I followed suit. The lift was made out of polished steel. The doors shut and I could see no buttons on the wall of the lift. She pressed a couple of buttons on her remote again and the doors shut. We then began to move downwards.
'How did you discover this place?' I asked. Vicky put her finger to her lips as if to tell me not to talk loudly.
'Victoria showed me this place,' she whispered, 'In the hope that I would want to work for Baines as well.' I nodded. My tummy curled as we finally came to a stop. I could hear quiet voices discussing things. The doors opened and we were greeted by two guards. They were wearing black and had black sunglasses on.
'Password,' one of them said in a deep voice.
'Ignorance is bliss,' Vicky replied. They stepped aside and let us enter.
