Slowly, I turned around expecting to see an angry Baines pointing a gun at my face. But I didn't. Instead, there was a beautiful lady wearing the type of glasses you would find at an opticians. Despite the glasses, I couldn't help fall for her feminine charm. She grabbed my arm and dragged me over to a table. Maybe she worked for Baines!
'There's something I need to tell you,' she whispered as if trying not to be heard by anyone else. I looked at her, waiting for her to respond.
'It's a long story,' she said, 'So sit comfortably.' I shuffled about on my chair until I felt a nice position. She took my hand and held it. Her hand felt warm and soft.
'I need to tell you,' she said once more, 'That people are trying to kill you.' It wasn't a surprise that she said that. She must of known too. I stared deep into her eyes. She had lovely blue eyes. I just couldn't take my eyes off her. I fell instantly in love.
'There's a man,' she whispered, 'Called Baines. He knows your secret. And he wants you.' Thoughts raced through my mind. What secret? The secret about me not turning up to my job interview? Was Baines my future boss? I looked at her, pretending I knew what she was talking about. She waited for me to respond.
'What secret?' I whispered, following suit.
'You don't know!' she said, acting shocked.
