Part 5-2

Thoughts began to race through my mind. This person looks casual and kind of weak. Couldn't I just threaten him? But then I thought, I'm not a murderer or a bully. I looked down at my feet and at the branch I was standing on, surprised it hadn't collapsed beneath me. I wasn't the lightest of people at 14 stone (84kg). After making sure I had good balance on the tree and the branch I was standing on wasn't about to collapse, I looked back at the two gentlemen. They were looking right at me! I was shocked and almost toppled over backwards. They continued looking at me. I wanted to say something but I just didn't have the guts. I was sure I could hear a loud drum banging in my ears, but then I realised, that was just my heart. The deathening silence was ended by the response of Baines, 'Yes, that tree will look nice outside my house, let's take it.' To my amazement, they hadn't seen me, just the tree I was standing on. But they wanted to take it! I tried to make my escape, jumping back into the car park and hiding behind my car, but I missed and fell off the car park, not landing on anything before I came crashing down to the ground.

Part 5-3

I opened my eyes and realised I wasn't hurt at all. Not surprising really because it was only a one metre fall. I had landed in a pile of leaves. I was amazed that not one of the leaves was ripped or damaged. Why was there a pile of leaves there? I realised something. Not about Baines but about what I had forgotten to do. I had forgotten to turn up to my job interview! I had to be there at 7! I glanced at my Ingersoll Diamond wristwatch which I had bought a couple of months before. The time said 07.14. I was too late. I thought I was going to cry then, but I didn't. I began to think. Finding out about Baines was more important than anything else at the moment. I could just hear hushed voices from above me. A body leaned out of the car park tugging on the tree I had being spying from. And a face! It was Baines! Once again he was looking right at me. This was all too much now, I just couldn't cope. So I did I very un-manly thing. I fainted
