Well, before I start the story I'd just like to say something. You are very lucky being able to read part 4 now. Usually with stories, I write them in advance and post them, part by part, very gradually. But with Baines, I'm writing it here and now. I have also made a promise to myself that no other forum will be allowed to read this before 6th February. So for a few days, this is an exclusive!
Part 4
I thought I was mad. At first I even thought I was dreaming, but then I realised it wasn't possible because I could feel the rubbish suspension of the Ford Mondeo rushing through my body. I didn't know what to do. I thought of going to my parent's house but then if there is a prank going on, they're always involved in it and I really didn't want any more rubbish about somebody moving into MY house. I decided to go to the cafe, just in town. Unfortunately for me, the road to town from my house was very narrow and very lumpy. It didn't help that I had poor suspension. But I had to face it. I just needed a drink, something to calm me down. I was already moving, I had been for about 2 minutes. When I started the engine I didn't really know where I was going to go but I was drawn to the road to town. Town cures everyones worries. When people have hangovers, they go to town, to the chemists. When people don't have hangovers, they go to town, to the pub. Town is usually packed but since was early on a Wednesday morning, I assumed that the shops would only just be opening, so I might have to wait around a while. I'm good at waiting. I did for a long time. It was a Thursday it happened, my Auntie went down to the village shop to get a newspaper. When after an hour she wasn't back, I started to worry. And I waited for 3 whole days before I realised she'd met a man and run away. But anyway, I arrived in town and the dim lighting of closed shops greeted me. But inside these closed shops, there were shopkeepers getting ready to open. I drove on till I found the cheapest and best car park there was. Crown Lodge Multi-Storey. I paid the £2 (put it into a stupid yellow machine), the barrier lifted and I went in. It didn't take me long to find a parking place, what with it being early in the morning. I pulled into a small space with a car on the right hand side. When I got out of the car, I saw a massive dent in the car beside me. At first I thought I had done it, but then I realised it had been there all the time. Quitely and faintly I could here two gentlemen talking, 'Good one Baines, you've got him for sure,' one of them said. I began to think. Where had I heard the name Baines before? I thought of my day. The de-icing the car, the removal van, somebody moving into my house called Baines. Baines! Baines! I had to find out what was going on and I had to find out fast.
Will he find Baines? Or will Baines find him? Read Part 5 for details.
