okay, i found this vid on youtube

it's about avril's new cd 'the best dang thing'

but, a lot of the songs.. sound familiar. like other songs, of talented musicians.

i think they sound alike, but what do you think?

Well, the first two do, but I don't know how people came up with the MCR one.

Anyways...MCR's lyrics from Revenge come out of The Preacher comics. I've never read them but I hear it's like, straight out of them.

And MCR also took the chord progression from one of Jawbreaker's songs (I can't think of it now) but they made it faster.

So I dunno what to think about it. If it mattered to them, like the Under Pressure/Vanilla Ice fiasco, then they'd take her to court. Which I think they did...

i don't think the mcr/avril sound alike.

the only thing they have in common are the word 'on'

but i think the peaches song, and the avril song sound the most alike.

I read about that on Wikipedia. I don't really believe she stole the lyrics on purpose. Maybe she was inspired by those songs. That doesn't make it any less wrong, but I'm just saying. Anyways, Avril is still my favorite.

U didnt know? avril lavignes song write used to be in the band that wrote boyfriend so she was sued. And she can get permission from singers to get some beat or song. For example, puff diddy never wrote his beats, he asked for permission to use the beat and simply got the chance.

I think the songs are sort of the same, but very different at the same time. The tempo and the lyric throws them off course, so I don't particularly think that it is copied. They do sound similar, but I think that it is more just the sounds of the song than the actual song. Like. . . . I don't know. Just because they sound similar doesn't mean that they are copied.

What is this about Avril being sued? I don't know if I heard about that or not.
