you have 2 download a thing on your computer........something like paint shop pro. X

You can use Paint Shop Pro to create pictures, then Microsoft GIF animator to make animations from the pix.

I don't really do avatars or animations, but Bell Sprout uses this I think, and the animations on her site are good.
