(NOTE: This story is kind of set in an alternate reality from my other stories with Kurosantchi, so it might be a little different from the ones you’re used to)

On Tamagotchi Planet, Kurosantchi was relaxing in her room, drawing giant Tamagotchis. At the moment, she was sketching an oversized Melodytchi wreaking havoc in the city. Safaiatchi, her Tama Pet, was watching her from his cage.

Soon, Kurosantchi finished her drawing. “It would be cool if Melodytchi really DID grow that big, even though it’s impossible!” Kurosantchi grinned. “Don’t you agree, Safaiatchi?”

The blue birdlike Tama Pet squawked in agreement.

Kurosantchi let him out of his cage. “Well, I think I’ll take a break from drawing. Let’s go for a little walk outside.”

Safaiatchi flapped his wings and followed Kurosantchi out of the house. Sunnytchi was high in the clear blue sky. Kurosantchi thought it would be a good idea to visit Flowertchi; she always had some interesting types of flowers to show off.

They arrived at Flowertchi’s house, and they found her in her garden with Melodytchi. “Hello there!” Kurosantchi greeted, walking over to them. Safaiatchi fluttered off to explore.

Flowertchi looked up and smiled. “Good morning, Kurosantchi! I was just showing Melodytchi some of my rare and special flowers. Would you like me to show you, too?”

“Yes, that’d be cool,” Kurosantchi replied.

Flowertchi pointed to a large blue flower with petals which shimmered and sparkled. “This is a Kirakira Flower. It sparkles in the sunlight,” she explained.

Kurosantchi and Melodytchi both gazed at the beautiful Kirakira Flower. Flowertchi continued to show them interesting flowers of all different kinds. Then, Kurosantchi saw Safaiatchi staring quizzically at a peculiar red flower with three petals, and each petal was a different size.

“What’s that flower?” Kurosantchi asked, as she went over to join her Tama Pet.

Flowertchi frowned. “I’m not sure. I found it only yesterday, and I haven’t worked out what it does yet.” She bent down to sniff the strange red flower. “It does smell nice though!”

“Really? Let me try!” said Melodytchi. She knelt down in front of the flower and breathed in deeply. “Yes, it’s got a really sweet scent,” she remarked as she stood up.

Then Kurosantchi began to notice something… it looked like Melodytchi was growing! “Uh…um… Are you okay, Melodytchi?” she stammered.

“Yes I’m fi—“ Melodytchi broke off as she felt herself getting taller and taller. Flowertchi gasped in surprise, and Safaiatchi hid behind Kurosantchi.

Melodytchi grew as tall as Flowertchi’s house, but didn’t stop there; she kept growing until she was about the size of a skyscraper. Maybe even taller.

“Oh my goodness!” Melodytchi cried, nervously taking a step. The ground rumbled and shook like an earthquake, and Flowertchi fell flat on her face. “Sorry,” Melodytchi muttered. Her voice was loud enough to give anyone a headache.

“What happened, Melodytchi?!” Kurosantchi asked. She remembered drawing a giant Melodytchi earlier. She never imagined it would really happen!

Melodytchi shrugged. “I don’t know, but I’ve always wanted to be giant!” She stomped off towards the city. Flowertchi tried to get up, but Melodytchi’s footsteps kept shaking the ground, and this time Flowertchi fell on her behind.

“We’ve got to work out what’s going on, before Melodytchi causes any trouble!” Kurosantchi told Flowertchi as they watched the giant Melodytchi walk farther and farther away. She turned to her Tama Pet. “Safaiatchi, go and fetch Mametchi! Maybe he will be able to put an end to this.”

Safaiatchi nodded, and took off in the direction of Mametchi’s house. Kurosantchi hoped Mametchi would come soon. Melodytchi was already quite some distance away, so they would have to run fast if they wanted to get to her in time.

At last, Safaiatchi returned with Mametchi, and also Himespetchi. They all rushed to Kurosantchi and Flowertchi. Mametchi took one look at the giant Melodytchi in the distance and exclaimed, “Oh my god!” He asked Flowertchi, “How did this happen?”

Flowertchi shook her head worriedly. “I just don’t know,” she admitted. “We were just looking at flowers, and…” She blinked, as if realising something for the first time. “That’s it!” she exclaimed.

“What is it?” Himespetchi asked anxiously.

Flowertchi pointed to the red flower with three petals. “She started to grow when she sniffed that flower! But, I sniffed it as well and nothing happened.”

“That’s strange, maybe I should try,” Mametchi murmured.

“Be careful!” Himespetchi warned, as Mametchi gave the flower a quick sniff.

Kurosantchi watched in amazement as Mametchi changed size… but instead of growing, he shrank until he could have easily fit in her hand.

“NOW what’s happening?” Flowertchi grumbled, sounding annoyed.

Mametchi rubbed his chin for a moment. Then he reached up and sniffed the flower again, and he grew to his normal size! “I think I’ve worked it out,” he announced. “See how the petals are different sizes? When you smell the biggest petal, you grow, while the smallest petal makes you shrink. And the medium petal returns you to your normal size!”

“I knew you’d be able to work it out!” Himespetchi beamed admiringly. “Flowertchi didn’t shrink or grow because she must have sniffed the middle petal.”

“So if we get Melodytchi to smell the middle petal, she will go back to normal!” Kurosantchi concluded. She plucked the flower from the ground, being careful not to breathe in its scent. She handed it to Safaiatchi, who took it in his beak. “You can carry it for us,” she said to him.

“Now, let’s go and catch up with Melodytchi!” said Mametchi. He glanced at Himespetchi and Flowertchi. “Are you coming as well?”

“I am!” Himespetchi answered immediately.

Flowertchi, however, replied, “No, I have to stay with my flowers.”

“That’s OK,” Kurosantchi insisted. “Let’s go, Safaiatchi, Mametchi, and Himespetchi!”

The friends rushed off towards the city center, where Melodytchi probably was by now. “Good luck!” Flowertchi called after them.
