Did anybody go to see two of the most amazing bands ever, Nightwish and Sonata Arctica at the Pandellic in Worcester on August 29th? 8D It was ftwpwn! If you went, please inform me. I was in greenish cargo shorts, a black explorer shirt, and Doc Martens, and my hair was pretty much a mess. I probably came off as male or undetermined gender sheepdog.
Anyways, it was epic. Sonata played first--I believe they played most of Unia. (I couldn't quite tell, because everyone was screaming so loud. xD I couldn't see because of people's ears in front of my eyes for a while, so at first I mistook them for Nightwish for about the first forty-two seconds. (fail. x_x) They were totally awesome, but unfortunately I didn't get to show my total appreciation complete with hand gestures because I was shying away from that for a while. because I wasn't quite comfortable with the environment yet. Hey, it was my first concert where people actually enjoy it. What can I say? (my other concerts have been junk like Native American music and cultural events. x_x
Nightwish came on after about, oh, idunno, an hour. They were flippin' epic, too. Anette was in like, a little black dress with the fashion bug accesories, and when she first came on I was all 'UMWTF?'. Tuomas was looking totally awesome in his amazing tophat he showed up in, and by the end of the concert he was drenched in sweat with his shirt pretty much off. o_o That is the one thing that turns me off to being a keyboardist in a band. The sweat.
Around mid-concert I started getting more comfortable and doing the handgestures and um...squeaking. yeah, I didn't exactaly do the sort of singing along to the song when it was at appropriate times, I squeaked. xDD
I got a Nightwish T-shirt with a flaming heart, a Sonata Arctica one with lyrics from Fly With The Black Swan, and a Nightwish flag with the cover art from Dark Passion Play. :]
So yeah, I simply had to post this.
