"Guys," Mametchi said, "Have you seen this new phone! It's really awesome! The Mamerolla PQ43 has a super fast quad-core processor, and the best camera you've seen, and..."
The others tuned Mametchi out. After a few minutes, when he finally finished, Memetchi responded, "But I can't afford a simple desk lamp! How could we amass thousands of Gotchi Points just so you can have some overpriced computer? YOUR HOUSE IS A COMPUTER!"
"Ummm...Umm...K-Kuchipatchi!"
"Zz-zz--Wh-wh-what-chi?!?"
"Do you have any money on you?"
"Sorry, Mametchi, but I spent it all on snacks-tchi!"
"...Well, that's out of the picture..." Mametchi whispered to himself.
"If you're going to ask me," Melodytchi remarked, "then I'm going to have to say no. I need to watch my money right now. Plus, my parents won't let me have a cell phone in the first place."
"Okay, guys."
"How about--we go play some baseball-tchi!" Kuchipatchi suggested.
Everyone thought that was a great idea! Mametchi just could not get his mind off that phone, however.
The next morning, Lovelytchi arrived back at Tamagotchi Town. She was gone for four days, since she was performing at a charity concert. "Mametchi! I just came back from my concert!"
Mametchi then woke up in an instant. "Wha-whoa-Oh, hi, Lovelytchi!" Mametchi said sleepily. "I'm glad you're back! How did the concert go?"
"Well, it went okay, until the entire stage collapsed under its weight. Nobody was there at the time, though, but we couldn't finish the concert."
"So that's why you are early. Umm, so..."
Lovelitchi had heard of Mametchi's discussion last night. "I heard you were talking about some cell phone with your friends. I think that was the phone I filmed a commercial for!" Lovelytchi reached into one of her pockets, retrieving a large, slender device. "I also got to keep the sample! Do you want it?"
"No thanks, I don't know if my parents would approve of it. Why don't you keep it?"
Terulin, in Lovelitchi's other pocket, was slightly terrified. "Don't replace Terulin!"
"No worries," Mametchi assured Terulin. "Lovelytchi, Terulin has a SIM card, right?"
"Let me check..." Lovelytchi grasped Terulin, undoing the back cover.
"That's it!" Mametchi exclaimed. He slipped the SIM card out of the little slot, and Terulin's "face" became blank as a puppet. "Easy, easy," Mametchi remarked. After a few seconds of careful handling, Mametchi placed the SIM inside the Mamerolla.
The smartphone turned on, the screen shining the loading screen brightly. "Do you think this will work?" Lovelytchi asked Mametchi. It did work. Terulin was back, though a lot different from before.
"Hello, children!" Terulin had switched from the voice of a curious toddler to a kind, mature young woman (much like that of a kindergarten teacher).
"Is--that you, Terulin?" said Lovelytchi.
