my tamagotchi is now g2 and i have gotten the same one both times. they start out looking different but end up turning into the same one when they reach adulthood. i keep turning into horoyotchi. am i doing something wrong?

You're doing nothing wrong! Actually, you're doing the same thing you do evertime before.
Tamagotchis grow into different characters based on how you care for them. Try changing how you feed them and when, or how much you play with them, and you should have a new person!

If it's a v4.5, try raising different skill points by playing Shapes or Manhole or by picking a different teacher. (If you don't know how- when you get your [ ! ] mail saying that you're allowed to go to school, you'll go to school and Mr. Turtlepedia will appear. Use the A or C buttons to scroll through the three different teachers and then choose one with B.)
