I sat next to Jason on the dock, I stuck my feet in the water and leaned my head on his shoulder. I could feel tears forming in my eyes. "You gonna be okay, Ara?" he asked me as he ran his fingers through my hair. "Yeah, I guess so.. Aly and Lilly are comin' over tonight to sleep over. I might call you alot for comfort, but hey.." I said in a weak and shaky voice. He hugged me and I wept into his shoulder. He was my father, the one who took me in when no one else would. He used to push me on the swings, and play with me. I couldn't help but cry. The sun shojne through the leaves of the trees and onto me and Jason. "Ara, I want to stay and help you get throufgh this, but I gotta go to church." he said. He got up and looked at me. "Stand up." he said. I stood up, even if it did mean he had me in check, I didn't care. "Now look at me." I looked at him, and he looked back at me. "Ara, you aren't the same girl. The girl I know, was happy, and always smiled. The girl I'm looking at now.. She has no smile. Shes got tears running down her face. The girl I knew, who could look me in the eye, is now looking down, crying." "I know.. BUt you know! You would do the same!" I shouted. He put his hand on my chin and pulled my head up to look at him. "But I love you all the same." he said. I ran into his arms and held on tight. "I love you too Jason.." I said. He let go of me and turned away to leave. I waved good bye and grabbed my shoes to go inside.
"So, what happened with Jason?" said Aly that night. "Were dating, he said he loved me, you know, the regular first day thing." I said. Lilly's mouth dropped open. "He said he loves you?! On the first day? Oh no no no!!!" she yelled. "What? I don't understand?" i said softly. "Ara, Ara, Ara! Its the first day! Reguardless of if you've liked each other forlike.. EVER, he can NOT say that on the first day!" Aly said. Lilly shook her head in agreement. I just sat down with my big Bubble Gum pillow. I hugged it and layed my head down in it. My life seemed to end. My friends only cared about my relationship! But what could I do? Whatever it was, I had to find out soon.
