We sat at the table with Ms.Shanon, waiting for Sarah Mackenzie to do her powers. Kids from outside sat at the window, watching. We must have sat there for five minutes before Sarah finally said, “I can’t do this, I lied. Just make me leave! I lied ok!” I was shocked. I ad never had anyone lie to me so they could be friends with me before. My mouth dropped wide open. She knew that she had lied and she was still leaving. “Aroara go outside with your friends, Aroara here is leaving.” I got up and pushed my chair in. Giving her a nasty look as I walked out. She looked ashamed, scared, shook up. My friends laughed at her, and I laughed along with them. She faked something to be my friend, and I don’t like that.
“Hey Ara, lets go up in the nursery and help Ms.Margery take care of the babies.” Kailia said. Shayla was beside her, nodding ok, and I said I would go to.
Once up there, I started taking care of a baby boy named Joshua. I talked to him, because he can’t talk back. Kailia was cooing over some baby named Ivory,while Shayla was playing with some two year old named Miah. Shayla walked over to me while holding Miah. “Adoption Day tomorrow, you excited?” she asked. I gave her a blank stare and put Joshua back in his crib. “Of course not! That means stare at Ara like she’s an animal day! If only that one family would come!” Shayla looked disappointed. “You know someone is bound to take you.” I looked upset and stared at baby Joshua. “But if no one takes me, I most likely have to switch orphanages again. And I hate doing that. I know that you, and Kailia, and Oliver, and Kevin will get adopted, my best friends always get adopted. Lilly will most likely be adopted to. By the way, where is she?” I asked. Shayla sighed and said, “There was an early adoption today, and Lily got adopted by some rich chick.” I chocked back my tears and ran to my room. What else could go wrong? She’s gone, adoption day is tomorrow, and all my friends are gonna get adopted. I just want to kill myself. I cried into my pillow, wondering why it had to be my best friend. My life had to be coming to an end. She said she would always stay with me, no matter what, and what a lie that was. Now I had no one but myself and the friends that would be gone by tomorrow. What a life that was.
