Chapter THREE
She walked over to me she had her hands on Sarah’s shoulders. She grabbed my arm and yelled, “Come on girls!” I turned my head, and my braids waved in the air. I looked at my friends with a scared look on my face, and they just shrugged and looked worried.
Ms.Sharon carried Sarah Mackenzie. I think Sarah’s seven years old, so she is younger than me. Sarah was crying as loud as possible. Every now and then she would hold her leg and say “I think it’s broken!” What a sneak! I didn’t even hit her leg! Ms.Sharon had sat her on the counter top so she could go get her some ice. And she made me sit in a chair in the corner. Finally Sarah stopped crying and she would look at me and scrunch her face up every now and then. I am so sick of her, and I don’t even know her. Ms.Sharon sat her on the table, pulled up my chair to the table, and sat down. “Now, what started this?” she asked. Sarah looked at me and said in a baby voice, “She pushed me down.” Then she made a pouty face. “Nuh uh! She’s lying! Ms.Sharon!” I butted in, not on purpose, but I spoke my mind. Ms.Sharon went out to the back and called one of the orphans inside as an eye witness. It was Kevin. I knew he would back me up. “Kevin, what started this?” she asked. He ran his fingers through his hair, laid back and said, “Sarah pushed Ara, sorry I mean, Aroara down, and the said ‘What ‘cha gonna do now, freak?’ So Ara, again I mean, Aroara stood up and brushed herself off. The she punched her in the eye and kicked her in the shin. And Sarah was lying on the ground, and so Ara, again I mean, Aroara put her foot on Sarah’s stomache, and said ‘That’s what I’mn gonna do, freak.’ And that’s what happened.” He smiled sypatheticly, and went back outside to our friends. Ms.Sharon sent Sarah t her room to pack her bags, because she is switching orphanages. I was sent back outside, but tomorrow I would be on little privlages, and the day after I would be back to normal routine.
I walked upstairs to Sarah’s room, to find her on her knees crying at the window. I walked in, and sat down by her. “Sarah, what’s wrong?” I asked. She merely looked at me and turned her head. “You wouldn’t understand.” She said in almost a whisper. “But I would if you just..” and she then again interrupted me. “I know you would know, because I’m exactly like you. A reject with powers. And No one ever knew. My way of showing you and everyone else that I’m not normal is by being tough, and fighting.” I looked at her blankly. “Sarah, if that’s what it is I’ll go talk to Ms.Sharon. I will be your friend forever. We have had our fights, but, I mean, only because we didn’t know we were the same. And because I didn’t like you doing that to me.” She looked at me and hugged me and said, “You’ve always been my idol, since I saw you on the news when I was three years old. Sitting in the living room of my real parents home.” I was shocked into tears, and she was to. I wiped the tears from her face and said, “Come on, I’ll go talk to Ms.Sharon. But you have to use your powers to show her that you really do have them.” She nodded in agreement and we hugged. Then I got up and helped her up. And we then headed down the stairs.
